Homebrew and winget

macOS: Homebrew

Verify what the package manager installed

Section titled “Verify what the package manager installed”

A package manager checks a checksum it got from the same place as the package. To check against the release itself:

Terminal window
zunder-guard version --verbose     # prints the version, commit and binary's SHA-256

Compare the SHA-256 with SHA256SUMS of that release, and verify that file’s signature (Verify a release).
